What is Baptism?
Following Jesus’s example, we see baptism is not required for salvation, but a first act of voluntary obedience after a new believer comes to faith in Christ.
Who should be baptized?
Our church baptizes believers who are of the age and sound mind to make their own profession of faith to our congregation, and under the leadership of our pastors.
How Do We Baptize?
We baptize by immersion, which is dunking the new believer completely under water signifying his or her death with Christ, and then raising the new believer out of the water, signifying new life in Christ’s resurrection.
What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin that grace may abound? By no means! How can we who died to sin still live in it? Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life. – Romans 6:1-4
